The well-known scientific research ship, Snow Dragon, has been to South Pole for 11 times and North Pole for 3 times to do the scientific research and supplies. Because of the long term service, the main engine and other equipments became old, PRIC decided to upgrade and reconstructed the ship.
MEETC which is the subsidiary of SMCEC handled the bid work for the Snow Dragon. Four major companies such as CSSC joined the biding. After professional and scientific evaluation, CSIC was the final winner of the bid. The reborn Snow Dragon will continue to make contribution to the scientific research in polar region.
